First grader Karly Reeves at North Elementary School is the Leander ISD Super Kid of the Week.

According to her teacher, Valerie Villegas, Karly is truly a friend to all. If someone needs help with anything or needs a reminder of the rules, Karly is there for them. If it looks like someone is having a bad day, Karly shows genuine concern and empathy. Her concern for others helps keep the classroom a safe and welcoming environment.

Villegas said that Karly exemplifies all 10 of Leander ISD’s Ethical Principles.

“Karly is a student that always goes above and beyond to make the people around her feel welcomed,” Villegas said. “Along with her concern for others, Karly is constantly striving for excellence in everything she does.”

Karly does dance after school, and in the fall she did a cheer camp with the Cedar Park High School cheerleaders. She loves Mo Willems books, and her favorite foods are ribeye steak and lasagna.

When she grows up, Karly wants to be a dentist. She also wouldn’t mind being a nurse, doctor, fashion designer or even a movie star!
