Leander ISD is proud to announce Vandegrift High School’s Maggie McElmurry as the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week. Maggie is a senior captain on the Vandegrift Viper cross country team and also runs track.
In addition to athletics, Maggie is enrolled in the rigorous IB Diploma Program, a member of the Spanish Honor Society, and a camp counselor for the Austin Yacht Club.
“Maggie never backs down from a challenge,” Cross Country Coach Colin Sully said. “I can always rely on her to complete her tasks as captain and to perform at a high level on the course. She is a consistent performer and a source of inspiration to her teammates”.
