She’s got a killer instinct to lead with head and heart. Leader of the pride, Mya LeVaughn is beaming as the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week!

The Leander High School senior exemplifies leadership on the Lady Lion Varsity Volleyball team. She’s proven her stellar skills as a four-year varsity starter and All-District selection. In the classroom and on campus, Mya takes charge as well. Academically, Mya is in the International Baccalaureate Programme. Among the top 4% of her class, she’s a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.

Beyond academics, Mya serves as the Key Club President. The organization devotes time to building leadership skills and character. She tutors students through the math honor society Mu Alpha Theta. She also provides input on the school’s Equity Committee Task Force.

“Mya has been one of the kill leaders on the varsity team since she was a freshman,” LHS head volleyball coach Ashley Atkinson said. “She is one of the smartest players I have ever coached and sees the court better than any player I have coached before.”

For the vision to achieve on and off the court, high-fives all around for LISD Student-Athlete of the Week Mya LeVaughn!
