Leander ISD is proud to announce Rouse High School’s Jared Southard as the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
Jared is a senior member of the Rouse Raider Varsity Baseball team. As a pitcher and outfielder, Jared helped the team advance to the area round of baseball playoffs and was also named the District 17-5A Most Valuable Player. His hard work and dedication on the baseball field have led to him signing to play baseball at the University of Texas at Austin this fall. Outside of baseball, Jared is a member of PALS and the National Honor Society.
“Jared a hard worker and leader in the program,” Head Baseball Coach Chad Krempin said. “His teammates look up to him and younger players follow his example. He sets the standard of how things are done.”
