Making strides in academics & athletics, Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week Kai McCullough doesn’t just take off; he turns back and encourages others to catch up!

The Canyon Ridge Middle School seventh-grader participated in cross country this year. Kai plans to join track and soccer as well. When he’s is not running, he excels in other areas of school life. Going the distance in the classroom, Kai is taking PACE math and Pre-AP Language Arts. He earned all A’s in his classes through the first semester of the school year. He also performs with the highly esteemed choir program at CRMS and is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

“Kai is an incredibly talented and hard working runner, but the most impressive thing about him is not his 2-mile time. Kai really stands out as a leader on our team,” CRMS cross country coach Brenda Edwards said. “He makes his teammates want to get better every day in practice. I believe that his leadership was a crucial part of the cross country district championship that the seventh grade boys won this year.”

Finishing strong, we’re proud to recognize Kai McCullough–LISD Student-Athlete of the Week!
