Excellence unleashed, Luis Ortiz is showing his teeth as this week’s Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week!
The Leander Middle School eighth-grader represents on the Tiger football, soccer and track teams. Despite not playing football as a seventh-grader, Luis earned a starting position on offense and defense this year. He is looking forward to playing soccer and running track this spring. In the classroom, Luis is taking AVID and Spanish IV–a huge accomplishment as this course is a college credit class!
“Luis is an outstanding young man on the field and in the classroom,” Leander MS Boys Athletic Coordinator Greg Steger said. “Luis has a great attitude about life and sports. He always has a smile on his face and is eager to learn.”
