Eighth Grader Sophia Fernsler at Cedar Park Middle School is the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week.
Sophia is a member of the Leopard football, cross country, basketball and track teams. She is a straight-A student and member of the National Junior Honor Society.
Cedar Park Middle School Girls Athletic Coordinator Erin Smith said that Sophia puts in 110% effort every single day.
“Sophia demonstrates the ability to balance her time by being one of the only CPMS athletes to participate in football and cross country, while also volunteering for events for NJHS,” Fernsler said. “She is a role model to her peers and shows incredible commitment to everything she puts her mind to. We cannot wait to see what she accomplishes this basketball season, the rest of her 8th grade year, and beyond.”
