For his remarkable commitment to sports and studies, we’re proud to announce Vista Ridge High School senior AJ Brewton as this week’s Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week!

AJ played defensive back on the Rangers football team and excelled in several track and field events. In addition to his time on the football field and track, AJ is a two-year member of the Leadership Council, as well as a member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

“I nominated him because I admire his work ethic all around,” Vista Ridge head boys track coach David Seaborn said. “He is a great role model to his peers and is a strong vocal leader, as well as one who leads by example.”

A standout in the classroom, AJ has the honors to prove it, including being named an AP Scholar with Distinction, a National Merit Commended Scholar, an Academic All-District selection and an Academic All-State Elite member.

“AJ has represented our school and community well,” VRHS head football coach Rodney Vincent said. “He embodies the core values of our program daily and has been instrumental in helping establish the Ranger Way.”

AJ will finish his senior year in the top 2% of his class and is set to attend Texas A&M University on a full academic scholarship!

Can we get an Aggie “Whoop!”? Thumbs up for AJ Brewton, the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week!
