After nearly 18 months at Concordia University in Austin, the time has come to again change the location of Leander ISD Board of Trustee meetings, this time to a location in the city of Cedar Park. Starting Jan. 9, 2025, the Board meeting will take place in Cedar Park Middle School’s library. [2100 Sun Chase Blvd., Cedar Park, 78613]
“What an amazing opportunity to showcase the library as the vibrant center of learning that it is on our campuses,” said Board President Gloria Gonzales-Dholakia, Ph.D. “Changing the location of the meetings as we have done over the past couple of years reflects our efforts to meet the community where they are, and we want to encourage the community to come and participate as together we serve the students and staff of #1LISD.”
Leander ISD makes up nearly 200-square miles, spanning three cities, two counties and parts of six other municipalities.
Prior to 2019, Leander ISD Board of Trustee meetings were held in different parts of the district to encourage community members from around the district to stay engaged with the decisions of the Board. In response to feedback, in August 2023, the Board examined how to once again provide for community members from different parts of the district to engage in person at board meetings and opted to move the meeting location to Concordia University to offer a more accessible location for the southern area of the district.
Continuing this approach, meetings will now shift to a centrally located spot in Cedar Park for an extended period of time.
The district will continue to provide livestreaming of the Board meetings in their entirety. The district’s clear bag policy will also remain in effect. Attendees will still have the opportunity to sign up for citizen comments from noon the day before the Board meeting to noon the day of the Board meeting. The only revision to Board meetings is the location.
If you are planning on attending in person, you can park in the main lot at the front of the school and enter through the main entrance. From there, signs will direct members of the community to the library inside the school.
