Leander ISD’s new sponsor-supported scoreboards at Bible and Gupton stadiums made their debuts Friday, Aug. 31, as four of the district’s football teams squared off to start football season. The new scoreboard at Vandegrift High School’s Monroe Stadium will make its debut Friday, Sept. 7.
The scoreboards, which are funded entirely through corporate sponsors, feature school-specific logos, an enhanced sound system and instant replay capability.
Leander ISD Superintendent Dan Troxell, Ph.D., was pleased to see students running the scoreboard operation and noted that it was more than just the gridiron that was featured.
“Friday nights are about more than football,” Troxell said. “I love seeing our bands, trainers, photographers, dancers and students featured in this way. I cannot thank our sponsors enough for providing this opportunity for students to shine.”
