Leander ISD is thrilled to introduce Michelle Jackson as principal of Whitestone Elementary School after the Board approved the hiring at Thursday’s meeting.
Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D., asked the LISD community to join him in welcoming Michelle Jackson back to the district as the new principal of Whitestone Elementary.
“Michelle is an experienced elementary principal and central office administrator who couples building strong systems with collaborative relationships. Her strong instructional experience and focus will ensure the continued academic success of each and every student at Whitestone Elementary,” Gearing said. “Michelle’s exceptional leadership skills will build on the existing strong culture and community at Whitestone Elementary.”
Jackson brings extensive educational leadership and classroom experience to the role of principal of Whitestone. She comes to LISD from Lago Vista ISD, where she most recently served as the director of student support services. Prior to that role, she served for seven years as principal of Lago Vista Elementary school, and as an assistant principal at Lago Vista Elementary and River Place Elementary.
At the beginning of Jackson’s educational career, she taught in kindergarten, third grade and fifth grade classrooms, including several years at Grandview Hills and Winkley Elementary schools in LISD.
“I am incredibly honored to join the Whitestone family as the new principal,” Jackson said. “I look forward to working alongside the amazing staff and community to continue the school’s tradition of excellence and commitment to students.”
Jackson completed her Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies at Texas State University, where she also went on to complete a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership. She also holds a Principal, EC-12 certification, along with numerous other educational certifications.
