During the 2022-23 school year, Leander ISD’s exceptional DECA students continued the tradition of taking the business world by storm. Their dedication, hard work and talent propelled them from the Texas State DECA Competition and on to the prestigious DECA International Career Development Conference, where they showcased their skills on the international stage.

Vista Ridge High School advanced 10 teams or individuals to ICDC, Vandegrift High School sent five, Rouse High School sent four, Cedar Park High School sent three and Leander High School sent one. In total, 23 teams or individuals from across the district competed at the international level.

At ICDC, Top 3 finishers included:

  • The Cedar Park team of Ethne Barnes, Claire Poulter and Paisley Schalles, which finished 1st in Integrated Marketing Campaign for a Product
  • Rouse’s Pranav Boopalam, who placed 2nd, in the Professional Selling Event
  • Rouse’s team of Bhavyashree Duggirala, Srisamarth Kolnati and Ayushi Priyadarshani, which placed 2nd in Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, along with winning a $1,000 scholarship
