A trio of LISD student-athletes took home UIL state wrestling titles, while four other grapplers pinned podium finishes. The district sent a total of 26 state qualifiers to the tournament in Cypress, Texas on Feb. 22.
Individual State Champions were:
- Ben Russo-Bell – Cedar Park High School, 5A Boys 220-pound division
- Luke Sloan – Vandegrift High School, 6A Boys 138-pound division
- A.J. Lofton – Vista Ridge High School, 6A Boys 152-pound division
Overall, LISD had a total of seven wrestlers medal finish in the top three. Other medalists include:
- 2nd place: Mea Mohler – Glenn High School, 5A Girls 138-pound division
- 3rd place: Ronald Caldwell – Cedar Park High School, 5A Boys 182-pound division
- 3rd place: Kallon Guyton – Glenn High School, 5A Boys 195-pound division
- 3rd place: Noah Gochberg – Vandegrift High School, 6A Boys 126-pound division
