The Leander Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) hosted its 10th annual Student Teacher Recognition (STAR) Banquet on Wednesday, April 30.ย The annual banquet provides an opportunity for students to honor the teacher most influential in their academic careers.

Seniors from LISDโ€™s high schools and students from the districtโ€™s SELF 18+ Transition Services took the stage in front of their families, peers, and honored guests at the Facilities Resource Center in Cedar Park to recognize an exceptional Leander ISD teacher who has made an impact on their lives.

โ€œAt the STAR banquet, our Leander ISD community showed up to honor and celebrate student-selected teachers who have made a profound impact on the lives of our students,โ€ said Coleen Brighton, executive director for LEEF. โ€œThese educators have passion for public education and unwavering commitment to our students’ success for life after high school. Together, we’re building our future generation of excellence, one student at a time.”

During the banquet, students shared powerful stories, cherished memories, and special words of gratitude about their selected teacher. Guests were treated to a catered dinner and cookies prepared by Glenn HS culinary students.

What a powerful display of the lasting, positive impact that teachers have as they serve as an inspiration for our students to continue doing great things!
