Eat your ART out! Fine Arts Student of the Week Elizabeth Singhaus is brushing up her talents with one giant stroke of creative genius!

The Rouse High School senior is taking off in the world of visual arts. Elizabeth received a Silver Key in the Scholastic Art & Writing competition for photography. Other honors include a medal in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event and an honorable mention in the PTA Reflections contest. The Youth Art Show showcased one of her drawings at Round Rock’s Downtowner Gallery earlier this year. Elizabeth has participated in the National Art Honor Society and art club, and several art competitions throughout the region.

Rouse HS Visual Arts and Photography teacher Cynthia Acevedo said she nominated Elizabeth because not only is she talented, she is also academically driven. She’s one of those teens who is aware of how important it is to balance her work and school life.

“Elizabeth has a sincere and humble passion for drawing,” Acevedo said. “She works meticulously, yet feverishly to bring her artistic visions to life, and you can see the care and love come through in her works. She is a great student and I couldn’t be more proud of her.”

We’ve drawn to the conclusion Elizabeth Singhaus–LISD Fine Arts Student of the Week–has opened our eyes to a whole new way of seeing the world through her art. Bravo!
