Leander ISD is celebrating the people behind the badge during the district’s inaugural Police Appreciation Week. This week, we honor and thank the officers, sergeants and the chief of police that work tirelessly to keep our students, staff and campus visitors safe.

Chief of Police Sha Rogers expressed gratitude for the dedication and professionalism that Leander ISD’s officers demonstrate every day. “Because of your efforts, our students are able to learn and grow in a secure setting,” Rogers said. “The positive impact you make, through both your vigilance and your relationships, plays a vital role in the overall well-being of our schools. Thank you for your continued service and for the difference you make every day.”

Beyond safety enforcement, Leander ISD police officers prioritize building relationships with students, engaging in positive interactions to develop rapport and serve as mentors and role models.

This balanced approach, combining vigilance with genuine connection, helps ensure that students feel both protected and supported.

The Leander ISD Police Department plays an active and visible role in fostering a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for every student. The department’s goal is to help students feel both protected and valued by combining a strong focus on security with genuine connection and support.
