Leander ISD Counseling Services is hosting two vaping seminars in February. Parents and students can learn more about e-cigarettes and JUUL use among students and what they can do to prevent it.

LISD will facilitate two “CATCH My Breath” presentations to better equip parents and students with educational resources. The Coordinated Approach to Child Health program can help start conversations between parents and students that focuses on healthy choices.

These free presentations will take place on Thursday, Feb. 27:

  • 10 a.m. at Four Points Middle School, 9700 McNeil Dr, Austin, TX 78750
  • 7 p.m. at Vista Ridge High School, 200 S Vista Ridge Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention report e-cigarette use among teens is three times higher than cigarettes in a report released in 2018. Rampant use, as well as new health risks, has created a need for public awareness.
