The Leander ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Keith Morgan, Ed.D., as the new principal of Cedar Park Middle School on Thursday at the Nov. 7 Board meeting.

“I am excited to announce Dr. Keith Morgan as the next principal for Cedar Park Middle School,” said Leander ISD Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D. “He is a dynamic and passionate leader who builds positive learning environments for each and every student by engaging and empowering teachers, parents and community members. We are confident that he will build upon the amazing success at Cedar Park Middle School and continue to enhance teaching and learning for all.”

Morgan comes to Cedar Park Middle School from Naumann Elementary School, where he has served as principal since 2012. Prior to that, Morgan was an assistant principal at Naumann Elementary from 2008–2012, the lead assistant principal at Vista Ridge High School from 2005–2008 and an assistant principal at CPMS from 2004–2005. He began his career in education in 1998 as an athletic director, coach and teacher at Hilltop Christian Academy. Morgan started with Leander ISD in 2000, serving as a math teacher at Cedar Park High School and later VRHS.

“I am excited to become a Cedar Park Leopard,” Morgan said. “This is an amazing opportunity to join a school that is passionate about student learning. I look forward to building relationships with the students, parents, and staff of this extraordinary community.”

Morgan earned a bachelor’s degree in business management at St. Edward’s University, a master’s degree in educational administration from Texas State University and a doctorate degree in educational leadership from the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor.
