Congratulations to 49 Leander ISD Band and Choir students for being named 2025 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State Musicians!
All-State is the highest honor for Texas music students. The selected students from Leander ISD successfully navigated several rounds of rigorous auditions, beginning in early fall and culminating on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the TMEA Area E auditions, where only a very small percentage advanced to All-State.
“Only the top 2% of approximately 70,000 musicians who initially audition become All-State musicians,” said Mike Howard, LISD director of music and performing arts. “Congratulations to these hard-working students on this monumental achievement!”
Next, these high school musicians will represent Leander ISD as members of the TMEA All-State Bands and Choirs at the TMEA State Convention held in San Antonio from Feb. 12-15, where they will perform for thousands of attendees under the direction of nationally acclaimed conductors.
