In honor of March being National Athletic Trainer month, LISD is saluting our student athletic trainers who work non-stop throughout the school year making sure our athletes have everything necessary to be their best.
As such, the LISD Student-Athletes of the Week are Andrew Hooper, from Rouse High School and Janet Jonga, from Cedar Park High School.
Andrew, a senior who supports volleyball and boys basketball athletes, is also a member of the Rouse Choir and the Rouse Leadership Council. Rouse Athletic Trainer Miranda Gafford states, “Andrew leads by example, he is a great teammate, and has been a rock for our program. Athletes respect him and the coaches always have positive things to say about his work.”
Janet is a junior who support football and girls soccer athletes. She is also a member of the National English Honor Society, National Science Honor Society and the UIL Social Studies Team.
Cedar Park Athletic Trainer Stefany Austin states, “Janet is a leader in our program that shows up and gets this done daily, without having to be asked. Janet makes sure the underclassman are taken care of and without her help we would not be able to do our job.”
Congratulations to Andrew Hooper and Janet Jongo, the LISD Student-Athletes of the Week!
