With a running start on her future, Leander ISD Career & Technical Education (CTE) Student of the Week Jiwon Cadena’s heart beats for health sciences!

Jiwon, known as Victoria, loves to learn about the medical field.  In the classroom, she gives the curriculum 110%. With vigor, the Cedar Park High School senior soaks up as much she can. Inevitably, she hopes to apply her learning to college and her future medical career. In her role as Cedar Park HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) vice president, Victoria expects nothing less than success. Whenever she encounters underclassman–both virtual and in-person–she provides excellent mentorship.

In addition to her leadership, Victoria has competed for HOSA every high school year. For the past two years, she competed in Behavioral Health.  In this very competitive event, she placed sixth!

“Victoria is amazing,” Cedar Park HS Health Sciences & Technology instructor Tami Beall said. “She learns quickly and takes the initiative to learn more about topics.  She is fun to be around and talk with.”

When it comes to compassion, Victoria shines with her dedication to Trivia Night. Through the HOSA fundraiser, donations go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Victoria has helped write trivia questions and recruited clubs around school to participate in this virtual event.

Virtually unstoppable! You’re a role model of passion & purpose, Victoria Cadena–LISD CTE Student of the Week!
