Leander ISD’s annual Backpack Attack event served to ensure that more students are equipped with everything they need to be successful for the upcoming school year.
Held Saturday, Aug. 6, LISD partnered once again with Hill Country Bible Church Northwest to distribute more than 1,500 backpacks and school supplies to LISD students in grades pre-K through eighth. Representatives from a variety of district departments were present to inform families of their services. This year was highlighted by the addition of free eye screenings provided by the Cedar Park Leander Lion’s Club and free haircuts, compliments of LISD Cosmetology. Community businesses, such as Raising Canes, Chick-fil-A and Smile Generation, also provided special contributions.
LISD thanks the generous community members who donated school supplies, the volunteers from Hill Country Bible Church and LISD, as well as the participating families who made the event a success!
