Every March, Leander ISD recognizes student-athletic trainers in honor of National Athletic Training Month. Across the district, students dedicate themselves to the health and safety of our student-athletes. #1LISD is featuring two student-athletic trainers as our Student-Athletes of the Week–one from every high school campus. We are excited to applaud the contributions of these outstanding students!
Leave it to a rookie to rise up! In her first year in Leander High School’s sports medicine program, Reagan Hoover’s roaring success has earned her the distinction as Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week! As a sophomore, this student-athletic trainer supports all sports throughout the year. In a very short time, Reagan has quickly flourished and taken on a leadership role.
“Reagan is a ball of fire!” Leander HS athletic trainer Aerin Henderson said. “She always has a positive attitude and encourages others. She sets her sights on a goal and does everything she can to make sure she accomplishes it. Reagan is an asset to Leander High School’s sports medicine program. We all enjoy having her!”
Glenn High School’s seasoned veteran has only gotten stronger over time. Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week Shannon Monaghan has spent all four years of high school in the sports medicine program. Not only does she support football and baseball athletes, Reagan also represented Glenn HS at the Baylor Scott & White Sports Medicine Leadership convention. When she’s not on a field, she is participating in Student Council and has won four gold academic pins.
“Shannon is an incredibly hard-working and dependable person. She has been a leader in the Sports Med program since her freshman year and routinely goes the extra mile for her program. She expects the best and motivates her team to be their best,” Molly Kidd, Glenn HS Athletic Trainer said.
Congratulations LISD Student-Athlete of the Week Reagan Hoover, from Leander High School, the Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week!
