Bump. Set. Spike! Ashley Bonneville is killing it as Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week!

Known to her teammates as “Bonnie,” the Glenn High School senior plays for the Glenn Grizzly varsity volleyball team. She ranks second on the team in kills in their impressive 4-1 start to the season. Her academic excellence shines as a member of the National Honor Society and the college-readiness program AVID.

Bonnie plans to continue playing hard and for the Grizzly girls basketball and baseball teams just like she did in years past.

“Ashley Bonneville is the epitome of leadership, energy and Grizzly GRIT+3,” GHS head volleyball coach Melissa Rich said.

Grizzly GRIT+3 is the school’s driving force behind successful students at GHS: a Global mindset, Risk-taker, Integrity, Tenacity and (+3) Going Above and Beyond/Whatever It Takes. Bonnie encapsulates it all, according to Coach Rich.

“She’s the true competitive spirit of what we do every day, looking opponents in the face ready for them to bring it on again, and spreading her fire to all who surround her,” she said. “She leads the program in our team motto of MUDITA (spreading cheer and celebrating the achievements of those around you). She exemplifies what it means to be a part of the Grizzly volleyball program on and off the court.”

For her contagiously winning spirit, #ClawsUp for Leander ISD Student-Athlete of the Week Ashley Bonneville!
