Read about some of our exceptional staff nominated for exemplifying The Leander Way!
Name: Ansley Smithson
Campus/Department: Rutledge Elementary
Job Title: Art Teacher
Component of the Leander Way: Create
Ansley brings a true passion and joy to all that she does. She has brought that same enthusiasm to virtual learning. She organized and implemented a “school wide” assembly that was student led by reaching out to students to have emcees, pledge leaders, weather reporters and special guests. She has really worked to keep a sense of routine and leadership for students. And, on top of all that, she also led a voluntary class in hand lettering just for fun for any students who wanted something to extend their creativity.
Ansley genuinely creates passion for learning. She inspires our students to excel as leaders in whatever their individual leadership is. She creates passion and enthusiasm amongst staff as well by helping build excitement for opportunities for students.
Ansley inspires others to be the best they can be. Her positive attitude and genuine care for others impacts all.
