Sydney McCallum, a fourth-grade student at Reagan Elementary, is this week’s LISD Super Kid. She demonstrates her super-powers of “Loyalty” and “Concern for Others” by consistently giving of her time in the structured learning environment (SLE) classroom.
Sydney stops by every morning to check in with the students, helps a student get his breakfast and walks another student to class. She helps a fourth-grade peer with his communication system and volunteers her time during kindergarten PE to help special education students participate.
“Sydney shows a passion for caring for others and those with all abilities,” teacher Krista Spurgeon said. “She takes initiative, has a big heart for all, and is a joy to have in the reverse inclusion program.”
