One of our Leander ISD’s “Leader In Me” campuses features our LISD Super Kid, Sonia Elise Grogono.

The fifth-grade standout is making her final year at Reed Elementary memorable by embracing many leadership roles on campus. As a member of the Lighthouse Team, Sonia understands the importance of being a good role model. Lighthouse Teams bolster the Leader in Me model, a student empowerment program that uses leadership and life-readiness skills to prepare students for future success.

Sonia’s strengths lie in her accountability, fairness and respect for herself and others – skills that help make her successful when working on a challenging project with her Destination Imagination team or keeping students out of harm’s way as a member of the safety patrol.

“She is like a mini principal,” Reed Elementary principal Paige Collier said. “She can run the school if you let her!”

We know big things are in store for Sonia because she’s already doing big things at Reed! Congratulations to this LISD Super Kid!
