Our teachers must be making all the right moves; LISD Super Kid Londyn Hill is walking in their footsteps in her pursuit of excellence!

After about four weeks of virtual learning, Londyn has found some ease with being in front of a camera. The Akin Elementary first-grader has created her own teaching video posted on YouTube. In it, Londyn reads a chapter from a favorite book, Mercy Watson Goes for a Ride by Kate DiCamillo.

“She read with expression, paused to show pictures, questioned her virtual ‘students’ and even complimented their thinking,” Londyn’s teacher Mary Kay Gunn said. “I think I have a future employee in the making!”

Just like DiCamillo’s beloved pig Mercy, Londyn loves rides, too, of the biking variety alongside her sisters. She’s found a perfect playmate with her—no, not a pig—puppy who enjoys a good game of tug-of-war, even if the puppy always wins.

Congratulations to LISD Super Kid Londyn Hill, who’s taking the driver seat of her learning and teaching us a thing or two about reading!
