Answering the call to the stage through song, dance and play, Leander ISD Fine Arts Student of the Week Evelyn Carpenter shines in the spotlight as a true triple threat!
A Four Points Middle School seventh-grader, Evelyn serves as an officer of the Falcon Theatre, sings with FPMS Varsity Treble Choir and dances with the Majestics Dance Team. During the fall, she manages her time exceptionally well. While performing at Tuesday night football games, Evelyn is learning music and working on the fall play in multiple roles. On top of that, she’s running and attending meetings for Thespian Troupe 89456 as an officer without sacrificing excelling in her academic classes.
This year, Evelyn went out of her comfort zone in multiple ways, FPMS theatre teacher Maria Talbot said. She believes Evelyn set a great example to our rookie and veteran members.
“Evelyn is a hard worker with a positive attitude,” Talbot said. “She is incredibly talented, yet maintains a growth mindset. She actively seeks out ways to improve her performance and backstage skills and serves as a mentor to new students in Falcon Theatre.”
FPMS Majestics director Alexa Blair said Evelyn consistently puts her teammates before herself and never has a negative attitude.
“Evelyn is a natural leader, a friend to all and one of the hardest workers I know,” Blair said. “She is involved in multiple groups on campus and strives to make good grades on top of everything else. She is responsible, respectful and dedicated and deserves some recognition!”
A one-woman show with critical acclaim, take a bow, Evelyn Carpenter–Leander ISD’s Fine Arts Student of the Week!
